Releasing Solar wallet for Android & iOS

In January we released Solar — a super fast and user-friendly desktop wallet for the Stellar network. Now we’re proud to announce Solar is available in the app stores.

Being not only a micro-payment solution provider for media publishers on the internet, but also a major stakeholder in the Stellar ecosystem, we at SatoshiPay are constantly pushing to make distributed ledger technology more accessible and suitable for the mainstream.

In an effort to improve the user experience for our publishers, as well as giving back to the Stellar community and its technological ecosystem, we created the Solar wallet.

Mission

Solar’s mission is to make the Stellar network easy to use, securely manage funds, and make the on-boarding and payout experience suitable for the average user. While the latter features are still to be released (watch this space!), we made great progress providing a user-friendly wallet app that is available on all major end-user devices.

The mobile apps have been in development since the desktop app launch earlier this year, while simultaneously shipping several new features for the desktop app. “Release early, release often” they say, so we started testing the apps internally early on, before starting a closed alpha-testing and then a public beta-testing program.

Today we are proud to announce that this milestone has been reached and the apps have been rolled out to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store!

Outlook

Right now we are completing the last basics of the app, but we will soon start to develop features for integrating the wallet and external services in new ways that will allow us to provide new unique user value.

These new features will not only improve the user experience for our publishers, but they also impose interesting opportunities to connect Solar with all sorts of other blockchain-related services on the internet!

• An off-ramp interface for payouts in local currencies
• Multi-factor authentication
• Hardware wallet support
• First integrations with external service APIs
• Multi-signature improvements
• Improved on-boarding and user guidance
